Kid Cudi’s Courage Inspires

Kid Cudi revealed in an emotional letter on his Facebook page to his fans on Tuesday that he was entering rehab for depression, anxiety and suicidal urges. “It’s been difficult for me to find the words to what I’m about to share with you because I feel ashamed. Ashamed to be a leader and hero to so many while admitting I’ve been living a lie.”  Kid Cudi who’s real name is Scott Mescudi proved himself to be the hero that he hoped he could be for his fans. kid-cudi-performs-lolla-2015-billboard-650

Depression and Anxiety are the best of friends and the worse tag team you could imagine inside your head. He followed in his letter stating, “My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it. I can’t make new friends because of it. I don’t trust anyone because of it and I’m tired of being held back in my life.” Monsters hide under your bed when you little. When you grow up they aren’t under your bed anymore they scream inside your head.

Toward the end of his letter, he goes on to say that he hasn’t been at peace for a long time and it was time to put himself first. It was time to check himself in and begin his recovery journey. I would like to recognize his bravery and courage to seek out help. It takes a very strong soul to acknowledge you have a problem and inquire help. But the more amazing thing he is still making sure that he releases his album and music videos for his fans. He put himself first but he is still thinking of his fans.  tumblr_ltzm5uw69m1qfwshko1_500
